The Agency for Scientific Research and Training (ASRT), in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is supporting the Ministry of Health to develop a national breast cancer control programme (NBCP) for Malawi through the Akazi-project. This is the phase 2 of the AKAZI research project which aims to undertake a national assessment of current capacity for early diagnosis of breast cancer, strengthen preparedness for early detection of breast cancer through establishing a national CBE training curriculum and undertake a campaign to improve breast health awareness among women and communities in Malawi.
