The 14 candidates comprised interns from the government Internship program and ASRT interns and enumerators. Candidates from ASRT were identified through a selection process that consisted of submitting letters of motivation to attend the course and an internal competitive process. Those from the Ministry of Labour, Skills and Innovations were submitted from the office of the Director of Planning. Candidates are from varying backgrounds including Global Affairs, Nursing and Midwifery, Biotechnology, Social Science as well as Business Administration.
Essential Business Skills is an accredited short course created by ABMA Skills in the UK and delivered locally in Malawi by ASRT. It is a course that focuses on building confidence and mastering skills that are vital for both at personal and professional endeavours. Skills such as teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking and presenting are often overlooked but this course will provide you with real life situations, allowing you to learn and develop skills that will continually benefit you.
ABMA Skills is part of ABMA Education, an awarding body based in the UK. It is renowned for its diploma qualifications that have been offered successfully in Malawi for over 20 years. ABMA Skills focus is to create short courses that provide candidates with workplace skill sets that make them stand out and kick start their career or grasp new exciting career opportunities as well as provide continuous professional development if already in employment.
ASRT is a local consulting firm based in Lilongwe. It provides services in three main areas across all sectors; that of Program Implementation, Research and Capacity Building. ASRT Associates have demonstrable combined knowledge and experience from years of running programs, conducting research, and involvement in management at senior level coupled with extensive experience in training.
